AUGUSTA, Ga. -- Adult entertainers at local club say they're working in conditions that employees in an office setting would not tolerate.

They say their boss wants them dance even without any heat.

"Latoya" never expected she need to add this kind of heat to her routine at Fantasy Showgirls.

"I bought a little heater from the store," she said. "Just to get a little heat while we are dancing."

The adult entertainer, who does not want to be identified, says working became unbearable about three weeks ago.

"We have customers come in there and they're fully dressed with jackets and coats and they say it's cold," she complained.

The dancer says it gets so chilly that she and the other girls bundle up under blankets when they're not on stage. News 12 recorded the temperature in the club Tuesday at 57 degrees.

She says she and other dancers complained to management but so far they're still shivering on stage. "Latoya" says she can't afford a new job right now since she is a single mother.

"It really shouldn't matter where someone works. Everyone should have heat," she said.

A manager with the club told News 12 that he is working on fixing the problem with the heat. He claims the heat went out this past weekend. Four entertainers told News 12 they have been working without heat for three weeks to a month.

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration says employers are required to make their workplace a safe environment, which includes keeping employees away from physical harm and educating them on how to dress for cold weather.
