OYS: No more DTV converter box coupons, at least for now
The digital TV conversion is coming in a little over a month. But if you don't have a coupon yet to get one of those converter boxes, you may be out of luck. That's because the money for the coupons is all gone. Posted: 6:05 PM Jan 6, 2009Reporter: Jeff Anderson Email Address: jeff.anderson@wrdw.com |

AUGUSTA--The digital tv conversion is coming in a little over a month. But if you don't have a coupon yet to get one of those converter boxes, you may be out of luck.
It turns out there's quite a few people who still watch TV off of rabbit ears.
The Federal Government set a $1.34 billion dollar budget to help consumers off-set the costs of those converter boxes. But it appears the well has run dry on that money.
If you don't have one of those coupons, the best you can hope for now is to be put on a waiting list.
And there's no guarantee, if you're on the waiting list, that you'll get a voucher in time for the switchover next month.
If you want to get on the waiting list, you can call 1-888-DTV-2009. You can still purchase a converter box at full price.
