Summer is almost here and that means vacation time for many of you. But with the price of gas, your trip may not take you too far from here.

12 On Your Side has a daytrip idea that won't break the bank.

Many of you are probably looking for ways to take a vacation this summer, but the budget may be a bit tighter because of gas prices. Well, there is a city you might be familiar with that has plenty to do, Atlanta.

Of course, there's the Georgia Aquarium, the Braves and even Stone Mountain. There are loads and loads of things that are family-friendly and you can attend any of them in a day.

Maybe the new World of Coke is a little more up your alley. And Six Flags just reduced its ticket prices to make things a little easier on your wallet. Not to mention there's a lot of shopping and sightseeing to do at the many historical spots around town.

"Everyone is debating whether or not they are going to take a vacation right now and Atlanta is just over 2 hours away, so you're basically looking at one tank of gas. And that makes it a really affordable summer destination," says Lauren Jarrell of the Atlanta Convention and Visitors Bureau.

One of the deals being offered is called the MVP package. For only 89 bucks a person, you get a ticket to the Aquarium, the new World of Coke, an all-day pass to Six Flags, a pass to Stone Mountain and a Braves ticket. And it's being offered through the Atlanta Convention and Visitors Bureau. For more information, click here

And stay tuned to News 12 This Morning in June when we'll be giving away a bunch of trips to several families in the Augusta area who really could use a vacation.
