RIYADH, Saudi Arabia (AP) — The official Saudi news agency says the kingdom strongly condemns the "evil, heinous" plot to assassinate its ambassador to the U.S., describing it as a violation of international law.
The statement published Wednesday said the kingdom appreciates the U.S. efforts to unravel the alleged Iranian plot. It said the kingdom is working with the U.S. to help identify the plotters.
The statement said the kingdom will take firm measures to deter any attempts to undermine its security and sow "sedition" among its people.
Saudi Arabia and other countries like Bahrain have accused Iran of trying to sow dissent in their countries this year during the Arab Spring uprisings across the region.
