Woman dies after accident on Highway 24

Thursday, Nov. 8, 2012

BURKE COUNTY, Ga. -- A woman is dead after a single-car crash in Burke County.

The accident happened on Highway 24 when 57-year-old Karen Jenkins of Waynesboro lost control over her 1996 Chevrolet Blazer.

Jenkins left the roadway, struck a culvert, overturned and landed in a ditch around noon.

Alcohol is not suspected to be a factor in the crash.
