BURNETTOWN, S.C. (WRDW) -- The roadway is clear after an accident on Jefferson Davis Highway Wednesday morning.

The accident happened at the intersection with Anthony Drive around 7:40 a.m.

Officials say a high school student was driving his younger sister to school when he tried to turn onto Anthony Drive. His car was hit by another car coming down Jefferson Davis, causing the car to do a 180.

The younger sister was ejected from the car. She was taken from the hospital, but is said to be OK. The driver is also said to be OK.

The driver of the other car had minor damage to her car, but is said to be OK.

Officials say the student is being ticketed, but this could be a wreck where both contributed to the accident.

The investigation into the accident is ongoing.
