Roadwork, closures scheduled for this week

Wednesday, March 21, 2012

AUGUSTA, Ga. -- Some roadwork and lane closures scheduled for this week could affect your commute.

Pleasant Home Road in Columbia County will be closed between Wind Ridge and Flowing Wells roads starting at 7 p.m. Wednesday. Crews will be replacing a water line under Flowing Wells Road. The repairs could cause a disruption in water service for those living in Wind Ridge Estates Subdivision.

Richmond County crews will be working to clean up litter until Thursday at the following locations: Deans Bridge Road (mile marker 0 to 17), Mike Padgett Highway (mile marker 0 to 18), State Route 88 (mile marker 0 to 11) and Peach Orchard Road (mile marker 0 to 10). Work will take place from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. There could be single-lane closures.

An outside lane of Washington Road at its intersection with I-20 will be closed until Friday and then Monday through Thursday of next week as crews work to install lights. Work will take place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The closures will take place on both the eastbound and westbound sides.

Crews will also be mowing and picking up litter along I-20 (Belair Road to the Savannah River) and Bobby Jones Expressway (I-20/I-520 Interchange to the Savannah River) until Thursday. A lane could be closed while work is completed.
