AUGUSTA, Ga. -- Richmond County has some upcoming roadwork, starting Monday, that could affect your commute.
Crews from the Department of Transportation will be mowing along State Route 28 (mile marker 0 to 2.5), State Route 56 Spur (mile marker 0 to 6.6) and State Route 104/Riverwatch Parkway (mile marker 4.9 to 7.5) between 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Work will also be completed to remove debris on I-20, Bobby Jones Expressway, State Route 10, State Route 28, State Route 56 SPUR and State Route 104/Riverwatch Parkway between the same time frame. Street sweepers will be used at some of these locations and there could be some single-lane closures.
This work is expected to continue until Thursday.
Columbia County will also see some roadwork next week. State Route 223 in Grovetown from Creek Side Estates to Gordon Highway will take place Sunday night and go through March 29. Work will take place overnight Sunday through Tuesday. Work will take place during the day from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.
