AUGUSTA, Ga. -- A vehicle overturned early Tuesday morning, hitting a power pole and sparking a fire.
It happened at 13th Street and Walker Street around 1 a.m.
Deputies believe the driver of the car had been drinking. They say the Chevrolet Blazer spun out of control, overturning and hitting the pole. That pole then caught fire. Deputies say the driver tried to get out and run, but he was caught and taken to the hospital. There is no word on what charges he may face.
The River Ridge Apartment complex was without power. Traffic lights at 12th Street and Telfair Street were also out.
Georgia Power has been notified to check the power pole.
