AUGUSTA, Ga. -- A 60-year-old woman was killed during an accident on Central Avenue Monday afternoon.

Deputy Coroner Kenneth Boose says the victim was Nellie Walker of Augusta. She was pronounced dead at 4:45 p.m., and her autopsy will be scheduled at a later time.

Walker was riding in the back of a Chevy Blazer along Central Avenue when the car was hit by a Chevy Tahoe trying to cross Merry Street.

Two others were in the Blazer, including the 22-year-old female driver. The driver is five months pregnant and was taken to the hospital. Her 22-year-old husband was in the passenger seat but was not taken to the hospital.

The driver of the Tahoe, 22-year-old Denesha Jones, is facing charges of failure to yield, driving without insurance and vehicular homicide in the second degree.
