Pedestrian killed crossing Barton Chapel Road

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW) -- A man is dead after trying to cross Barton Chapel Road Saturday night.
Authorities say 34-year-old Robert W. Jones Jr. died early Sunday morning from blunt force trauma.
Deputies say the accident happened around 10 p.m. on the 2200 block of Barton Chapel Road near the IGA.
There's no word if the driver will be charged.
No autopsy will be performed.
The coroner says this is the second pedestrian to be hit and killed so far this year.
