AUGUSTA, Ga. -- Richmond County deputies have confirmed a 25-year-old female died after being hit in south Augusta Monday morning.
Elizabeth Oerman was hit and killed as she was trying to cross Deans Bridge Road at Golden Camp Road around 6:45 a.m.
Deputy Coroner Kenny Boose pronounced her dead at the scene at 7:15 a.m. Oerman died instantly from injuries she sustained during the accident.
Cpt. Scott Gay says the driver had a green light when Oerman darted out into traffic, stopped and then tried to cross the road.
There is no word if charges will be filed against the driver at this time.
