TRENTON, S.C. (WRDW) -- The Aiken County coroner has confirmed one person died in a wreck late Sunday night.
It happened around 10:20 p.m. at Highway 19 and Mallard Court.
Witnesses say 43-year-old Keith Bradberry was driving north on Highway 19 when he tried to pass another vehicle. That's when investigators say his car left the roadway on the southbound side, went into a ditch and returned into the southbound lane, sideswiping an SUV. Bradberry was ejected from the vehicle after it flipped several times. Investigators say he was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
Bradberry was pronounced dead at the hospital at 2 a.m.
The driver of the SUV was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
The Aiken County Coroner says excessive speed and use of alcohol are being considered as contributing factors in the crash.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol and the Aiken County Coroner's Office are investigating the crash.
This was the second fatal crash in Aiken County over the Memorial Day weekend.
