AIKEN COUNTY, S.C. (WRDW) -- An accident shut down the roadway around mile marker 5 on I-20 on Saturday.
South Carolina Highway Patrol says a 2005 Chevy suburban pulling 26-foot camper flipped over, blocking lanes. The suburban was holding six people.
All six have been transported to the hospital, but SCHP confirms there are no serious injuries. All passengers were wearing a seatbelt.
SCHP said the camper started to sway and the driver lost control. The trailer flipped on its side and the suburban flipped all the way over. Two people were mechanically removed from the accident.
Clarence Vanderwiele, 79, of Knoxville was driving the suburban and has been cited with driving too fast for conditions.
Tow trucks eventually cleared the scene.
