AUGUSTA, Ga. -- It started out as a normal Friday evening for Abby Overstreet and her family.

"All we heard was we just got slung," Abby said.

She and her family were slung by a log truck; In a matter of moments, the truck rolled right into her house.

"It slung us. It flipped us. All we know is furniture was on top of us. It was like you had time to react to nothing," she said.

Brian Stone was getting ready to start coaching football practice when the truck started moving.

"Everybody's first instinct was: Who's in the truck?" he asked rhetorically.

The answer: nobody. Richmond County deputies tell News 12 it rolled all by itself, causing the bizarre accident. It was an accident that could have killed Abby's son, who was playing on the swing set.

"If it was not for my neighbor's chihuahua, he would not have got off the swing set," she explained.

He left the swing set to go play with his neighbor's dog near the fence between the two houses. The truck missed him as a result, but Abby was inside, and her son was all she could think about.

"My baby because he was on the swing set, and all I could think about was, 'Oh my God, oh my God,'" she said.

Just as fast as it happened, it was over, and the only injuries were a few scrapes to her daughter.

"I thank the good Lord because if it wasn't, my baby would be under the tires of that log truck," she said.
