Motorcyclist seriously injured in crash on Phinizy Road

AUGUSTA, Ga. -- A motorcyclist is in the hospital with serious brain injuries after crashing his bike on the 1900 block of Phinizy Road overnight.
Richmond County deputies responded to the scene around 12:30 a.m.
The rider was traveling at a high rate of speed when he hit several trash cans and then over-corrected. He was flung about 20 feet off the motorcycle.
Deputies say the man was transported to the hospital with a skull fracture and serious brain injuries.
