MCDUFFIE COUNTY, Ga. -- A 4-year-old who was hit by a car at a school bus stop Friday morning is not said to have any serious injuries.
Ava Rushing was trying to cross Mattie Harrison Road when she was struck. Investigators say the bus had pulled away and then stopped and backed up. They are trying to determine if the bus had the stop bar activated at the time the preschooler was hit.
Rushing was taken to the hospital and will be held for observation.
