UPDATE: Injuries reported in Columbia Co. school bus accident

COLUMBIA COUNTY, Ga. -- A Columbia County school bus hit a dumpster Monday morning, sending eight students to the hospital with minor injuries.

All but one of the students have been treated and sent home with their families.

The driver struck a dumpster around 7:15 a.m. on Misty Woods Drive en route to Columbia Middle School.

The bus driver will not be driving until the investigation by the Columbia County Sheriff's Office is completed.

Parents were notified by phone call as soon as it happened and letters will be sent home to parents.
