UPDATE: 3 taken to hospital after accident on Aiken-Augusta Hwy

AIKEN CTY., S.C. -- Three people were taken to hospital after an accident on Aiken-Augusta Highway Wednesday morning.

The crash happened around 9:30 a.m. in front of Aiken Technical College.

Burnettown Police Department Chief David Paul Smith says 19-year-old Jordan Smith hydroplaned before crossing the median and heading into northbound traffic, hitting another car.

Smith and the two people in the other car were all entrapped. Once they were freed from their cars, all were taken to the hospital with substantial injuries.

There is no word yet on any charges.
