ALLENDALE, S.C. (WRDW) -- Some roads in Allendale are closed after rain and rising creeks flooded the area.
Here's a list of current road closures:
Late last night and earlier this morning, about seven additional roads were also closed. Allendale County Emergency Management Director Gidget Stanley-Banks says parts of the county got 6.3 inches of rain last night.
According to the Allendale County Sheriff's Office, the rain caused a dam to breach. Multiple holding ponds flowed together, which led to a number of the road closures.
"From what I know of, probably three accidents with vehicles went off into a ditch because of roads covered with water," said Lt. Steven Robinson.
Stanley-Banks says Allendale County is again under a flood warning Friday night until 10:14 p.m.
"Please, if you see a road that's partially covered or they think is covered, they don't need to drive on it because it may not look like a lot of water, but at night, it could be deep," Robinson said.
