UPDATE: Driver in serious condition after getting trapped inside overturned car

AIKEN COUNTY, S.C. -- Crews worked to clear an accident just after midnight after a truck overturned and trapped a person inside.

South Carolina Highway Patrol Trooper Judd Jones says the driver was heading east on Whaley Pond Road near Sandy Ridge Road.

The driver then ran off the road, went down into an embankment and overturned.

Jones says the driver was was freed from the vehicle and taken to Georgia Health Sciences.

The driver is in serious condition.
