GRANITEVILLE, S.C. -- Crews were on the scene of a three-car accident on Bettis Academy Road at Sage Creek Boulevard in Graniteville Tuesday afternoon.

According to South Carolina Highway Patrol, Ashley Mabe was driving the 1997 Infiniti that struck another vehicle head-on at around 12:15 p.m.

Mabe was traveling east on Bettis Academy when she came upon a 1994 Toyota driven by A. T. Mack. Mack was stopped for other traffic. Mabe swerved to the left to avoid the Toyota and struck a 2007 GMC driven by David Butler. She then struck the Toyota.

Mabe and the three occupants of her car jumped out of the vehicle and fled. Deputies from Aiken County later took Mabe into custody.

Mabe was booked into the Aiken County Detention Center on charges of driving left of center, leaving the scene of an accident and no driver's license.

Both Mack and Butler were transported to a local hospital with minor injuries.
