AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW) -- Both lanes of westbound Bobby Jones Expressway are back open after an accident involving two vehicles near the Gordon Highway exit Friday afternoon.

Officials say a passenger in an Acura driving in the right lane of the westbound lanes was adjusting her seat belt when she somehow opened the door and fell out.

A red Ford pickup truck swerved to miss the passenger, which is when a white Cadillac hit the truck. The drivers of both vehicles were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

The woman who fell out of the car had non-life threatening injuries, including road rash, and was also taken to the hospital.

No charges have been filed in the crash.
