UPDATE: Westbound lanes back open after wreck on Gordon Highway

AUGUSTA, Ga. -- The westbound lanes on the 2000 block of Gordon Highway are back open after an accident with injuries Thursday morning.

Deputies responded to the scene shortly after receiving the call at 5:45 a.m.

A pickup truck collided with an 18-wheeler going westbound on Gordon Highway.

One person has been taken to the hospital. The extent of the injuries are unknown at this time.

Deputies say the pickup truck ended up hitting a light pole in a nearby parking lot.
