UPDATE: 6 sent to hospital after accident on Peach Orchard Road

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW) -- Authorities are still investigating the accident that sent six people to the hospital Saturday night.

Deputies say a 17-year-old was driving the car on Boykin Road without headlights. They say in the other car was a 58-year-old driver.

The 8-year-old child that was taken to the hospital has been upgraded from serious condition to stable condition.

Charges are still pending for one or both drivers.

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW) -- An accident has sent six people to the hospital with serious injuries.

It happened at the intersection of Peach Orchard and Boykin roads.

Authorities say a helicopter airlifted an infant to the hospital. Others injured were taken by ambulance.

Investigators say a car was moving south on Boykin Road and did not have its headlights on. A second car turned onto Boykin, hitting the first car. Both cars ended up in a ditch.

Deputies are still on the scene. We will continue to keep you updated.
