North Augusta holds teen safe driving forum

August 29, 2007

NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C.---Today teenagers drove through an obstacle course on golf carts. It was harder than it looked, because they were wearing DUI goggles to give them the vision of a drunk driver.

It was all part of a safe driving forum for parents and teenagers held tonight in North Augusta.

Parent Joy Batchelor knows this forum may just be a lifesaver. All three of her sons were killed in a wreck less than a mile away from her home.

"We need to step up as a community," she said. "These are our children, our children, and we're losing too many. We've got to step up, pull together and help one another."

Teenagers have the highest crash risk rate of all drivers.
