Highway Patrol searching for hit-and-run driver

AIKEN CTY, S.C.---The South Carolina Highway Patrol is looking for the driver of a vehicle that hit and killed a 23-year-old man early this morning. It happened between 5:45 and 6:15 on Mayfield Road, about three miles north of Aiken.

The victim was taken to MCG, where he died this afternoon.

Troopers are not sure what kind of vehicle was involved in the accident.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Highway Patrol's Aiken office at 803-641-7657.

    Hasn't investigation shown his injuries are not consistent with a hit and run? Has there been an update on this story on 12? (Pardon if I've overlooked it).
