Aiken, SC--So far this year, there has been a staggering number of people killed on the roads in South Carolina.

That's why driving safely is the topic of a 2-day AARP driving course in Aiken.

About 40 people over the age of 50 came to the Windham House to watch a video and learn effective safe driving skills and strategies.

Eugene Bing says, "When you get to my age, you need to keep up with the law and things are changing everyday."

Carol Heck adds, "It's going to make us all a little more vigilant I'm sure."

Through August 14th, there have been 662 people killed in South Carolina.

That's 50 more compared to the same time last year.
