Traffic shift on I-520 (Bobby Jones)

June 22, 2007

The Georgia Department of Transportation; Scott Bridge Company, Inc.; and United Contractors, Inc. announce that there will be a lane closures on I-520 (Bobby Jones) at I-20 on Wednesday, June 27 and Thursday, June 28, to install temporary barrier wall. The closures will take place at night between 9 pm and 6 am both days.

In the vicinity of I-20, westbound traffic will be reduced from three to two lanes and traffic will be shifted to the two outside lanes. This shift is necessary to facilitate the construction of the new bridges at I-20 and the new flyover bridges. Traffic will remain in this configuration until we enter the next phase of construction later this year.

As with all road construction, motorists are advised to use extra caution in construction work zones. Motorists are also reminded that the posted speed limit will be reduced to 45 mph in this portion of the construction zone.
