Motorcyclist dies in collision

AUGUSTA, Ga.---An accident at the intersection of Washington Road and Fury's Ferry this afternoon left the driver of a motorcycle dead.

23-year-old Meyrick Morstad from Appling was killed when he ran a red light and collided with a Caterpillar utility truck at around 4:50.

The driver of the truck was not injured in the crash.

Traffic was moving slowly for hours afterwards, and deputies were directing traffic at the intersection.
