2 in serious condition after SUV spins off onramp

AUGUSTA, Ga.---Two people are in serious condition after their SUV spun off an interstate onramp and flipped this morning.

Maj. Richard Weaver with the Richmond County Sheriff's Office tells News 12 a Chevrolet Blazer traveling westbound on I-20 took the westbound I-520 ramp towards Columbia County too fast. The SUV lost control, went off the left shoulder, spun clockwise across the ramp to the eastbound part of the roadway, hit the guardrail, and flipped.

The driver and passenger were ejected into a ravine, and then the vehicle struck several trees.

Both victims are in serious but stable condition at MCG.
