The Georgia Department of Transportation announces that eastbound traffic on I-20 will be paced on Wednesday January 8, and continue through Friday, January 12, between the hours of 9:00 am and 4:00 pm.
Pacing will occur to safely remove the existing Walton Way Extension overpass bridge to facilitate the ongoing widening project. A lane closure will also be in place at the bridge site to allow room to remove the existing beams.
Pacing will begin just after mile marker 190 (Grovetown exit). Law Enforcement vehicles will be placed at the on ramps of Exits 194, 196 and 198 to prevent traffic from entering I-20 eastbound.
Pacing will continue through next week on both eastbound and westbound for beam removal.
As with all road construction, motorists are advised to use extra caution in
construction work zones.
