AIKEN, SC-- A family is mourning the loss of a 7-year-old boy after a crash in Aiken. Investigators say Glen Adam Miller, Jr. died in that accident.
It happened around 9:00 Wednesday night on Highway One near York Street and Rutland Drive.
An unloaded 18-wheeler slammed into an SUV when it tried to make a u-turn in front of it. The boy was thrown from the car, hitting the 18-wheeler. He was not wearing a seatbelt and was pronounced dead on the scene.
Other family members were in the car with him. The driver was 17-year-old Audrianna Miller. 10-year-old Vanessa Miller and 14-year-old Jessica Miller were also in the car.
All three went to the hospital, but we're told their injuries do not appear to be life threatening. No word on whether they were wearing seatbelts.
The driver of the 18-wheeler was not hurt.
Officers are not sure who will be charged in this accident. This marks the 44th fatal accident in Aiken County this year.
