October 15, 2007

AUGUSTA, Ga.---Last week's car-truck wreck near downtown Augusta has now claimed two lives.

81-year-old John Gunter of Augusta was the driver of the car that ended up under the truck on Laney Walker Boulevard.

His wife, Willie Mae Gunter, died Wednesday (October 10). John Gunter died later of his injuries.

A passenger is still in the hospital.

The driver of the 18-wheeler was uninjured.

Deputies say the blinding sun may have been a factor in the wreck. No charges were filed.

Want to know why there are so many accidents concerning speed? Take a look at the Ads for new cars. All of them are about SPEED. Remember Madza's "Zoom, zoom, zoom. The other one's that are detestable are Mercedes, where someone in a mercedes is stopped at a red light, another mercedes pulls up, the light turns green and they speed off racing each other. The next one is the Ford Mustang one with father and son doing donuts, burning rubber in an empty parking lot. When the son stops, he asks dad "do it again? The father replies yes, son. The next one is the Lexus racing to get to a favorite diner before it closes. The lady asks, can we make it? The driver looks at his watch, the have less than three minutes, he almost runs into the bsck of a vehicle, but the car let's him know that he is too close, so he changes lanes. Until we can get the automotive companies to change their ads, we will continueto Zoom, zoom, zoom!
