AIKEN, S.C.---A 16-year-old girl is dead after an accident around 2 o'clock yesterday afternoon in Aiken. Aiken County Coroner Tim Carlton says Megan Johnson was the passenger in a car driven by 19-year-old Michael Richardson. Both teens are from Aiken.
The car flipped on Wire Road near Coleman Bridge Road. Johnson was ejected from the car.
Both Johnson and Richardson were taken to MCG, where Johnson was pronounced dead.
Richardson suffered injuries that do not appear to be life-threatening.
Highway patrol is investigating, but speed is believed to be the cause of the crash.
