Updated: 10/08/2013 - The board made a goal a few years ago to keep every school around 85 percent full, but they say some have fallen well below that number and closing them could save a lot of money. They've hired consultants to do research and give recommendations on potential closings.
Updated: 09/10/2013 - The Richmond County Board of Education has yet to take up the issue, but the group pushing for it continues to develop their plan. At Monday's city commission meeting the group unveiled architectural designs for the Hephzibah Charter School. Tuesday, they will go before the State Charter Commission.

And while thousands are in dc to re-live that special day--one woman has a piece of history right here in Augusta. News12 spoke to her on Saturday and saw the original paper program from the historic speech she kept it for two reasons. First, to never forget where she came from but more importantly to honor her brother who was there for the speech and helped the movement--right here in Georgia.
Updated: 08/20/2013 - Every student is officially back in the classroom now that Aiken County has had its first day back. There's a lot of new leadership across the county, but one high school still doesn't know who will be in charge this year.
