AUGUSTA, Ga. -- The principal of Terrace Manor Elementary School lashed out Tuesday night at the Richmond County Board of Education meeting.
Principal Hartley Gibbons said he has tried to contact the board on numerous occasions about maintenance requests at the school. To see the video of the outburst, visit The Augusta Chronicle's website here.
Gibbons was later escorted out of the meeting.
After this, he started walking back and forth on the sidewalk in front of the BOE building wearing a sandwich board that said "TMES School Unsafe."
Cheryl Jones, executive director for elementary schools, says Gibbons received the same level of assistance that every principal receives.
The superintendent will have the final say on any disciplinary action in this case.
Gibbons declined to comment to News 12 and directed all questions to his lawyer.
News 12 sent an email to the Board of Education requesting comment on the situation.
