AUGUSTA, Ga. -- The principal of Terrace Manor Elementary School was escorted out of the building Wednesday morning.
Principal Hartley Gibbons was taken out of the school by Richmond County Board of Education officers around 11 a.m.
The deputy superintendent says they cannot comment on personnel matters.
The daily operations of Terrace Manor Elementary School are on normal schedule.
Gibbons was also escorted out of the Richmond County Board of Education meeting Tuesday night. Gibbons lashed out, saying he had tried to contact the board on numerous occasions about maintenance requests at the school. After being escorted out of Tuesday night's meeting, he started walking back and forth on the sidewalk in front of the BOE building wearing a sandwich board that said "TMES School Unsafe."
Cheryl Jones, executive director for elementary schools, says Gibbons received the same level of assistance that every principal receives.
