AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW) -- Richmond County School Superintendent Dr. Frank Roberson is telling News 12 he follows the law in the way discipline is given out. PTA President Monique Braswell says the opposite.

Roberson disciplines any school officials caught breaking the rules. He says being fair is always important.

"We look at the facts around the case. We do a historical review and where is the case law as it pertains to situations that we dealt with," Roberson said.

Roberson reprimanded Assistant Principal William Henry who was accused of driving under the influence. Teacher Francine Wynn was reprimanded for putting a child in a room with the lights out.

Three staff members were reprimanded for how a specials needs student was restrained.

"You take one out the classroom for safety of children, but you leave another one in the classroom. Those are the unfair practices that I'm talking about," Braswell said.

"The PTA president is not privy to all of the facts the administration has to consider," Roberson said.

"Do the things in the way they should be done. Stop treating people differently because you like them," Braswell said.

"It's clearly unfair. It's not an informed statement. You can't know what we have to address around this table," Roberson said.

A table where critics say teachers and administrators should be held accountable.
