Today, two schools have heightened security.
It's been a week that has had hundreds of students out of class and everyone on higher alert trying to make sure your kids are safe.
Silver Bluff High School is under lockdown right now. And extra officers are at the school to provide extra safety.
Students arrived this morning to a threat written on the sidewalk. Today's increased security comes from a verbal fight yesterday between two boys over a girl. Seven students were suspended, and rumors spread overnight that gangs from two different areas may retaliate.
Many parents chose to check their kids out of school today.
Principal Todd Bornscheuer says the school determined there is no immediate threat to the school or students, and the school does not believe the fight was gang-related.
