Letters are being mailed today to the homes of students who have made application for School Choice transfers from their zoned home high school in Needs Improvement to another school not in Needs Improvement. In addition, a phone call will be made to the home of each student.
Students transferring from non-Title I high schools, i.e., Butler and Hephzibah, must provide their own transportation.
In accordance with the federal No Child Left Behind Act, transportation will be provided to those students transferring from the following Title I schools: Glenn Hills High School, T.W. Josey High School and Lucy C. Laney High School.
We must ask your patience for the first week while the bus routes are arranged. During this time students transferring from these schools have the option of providing their own transportation.
If that is not possible, the student is to enroll in the zoned high school until notified that transportation has been arranged. At that time, bus drivers will call the homes of these students to let them know the location and approximate time of pick up.
