The Richmond County Board of Education will open two new elementary schools in the south Augusta area this fall. Public meetings have been scheduled at Jamestown Elementary, Windsor Spring Elementary, Tobacco Road Elementary, and Willis Foreman Elementary, as these schools will be rezoned due to the addition of the two new schools.
Also, the School Board will rezone Sue Reynolds Elementary to relieve overcrowding at Sue Reynolds and allow for future growth. Preliminary information indicates that these students will be rezoned to Warren Road Elementary, which has recently undergone a complete remodeling and now has the classroom space available.
The purpose of the rezoning meetings is to inform parents of the proposed changes, address questions about the rezoning, and receive public and parental input before any rezoning changes are proposed to the School Board for action. A schedule of the rezoning meetings is as follows:
|Monday, May 15, 2006||5:30 p.m.||Jamestown Elementary|
