South Carolina schools now can't start classes earlier than 3rd Monday in August

The South Carolina Senate has given final approval to a bill to delay the start of schools in South Carolina.

The measure passed the House last month.

It prevents schools from starting classes earlier than the third Monday in August.

Schools with year-round schedules are exempt.
