AIKEN, S.C. (WRDW) -- A winner has been elected in a race for Aiken's City Council.
Elections officials say voters picked Republican Randy Merry with 80 percent of the vote.
His challenger, Democrat Randy Gaines, managed just 20 percent of the vote.
Elections leaders say only 8 percent of voters in the City of Aiken showed up to cast their ballots.
Merry replaces Don Wells, who was elected to the South Carolina House of Representatives in November last year.
