AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW) -- Are you satisfied with how much your property is taxed? Are there enough parks and things for families to do in Augusta?

If you live in Richmond County, a new online survey gives you a chance to speak up. "I think it will be very effective and we always want to get the public's input," said Mayor Deke Copenhaver.

The city's IT Department came up with an online survey to allow those living in the county to voice opinions on the Sheriff's Office, Fire Department and other city services. The city only wants those living in the county to take part in the survey.

For the phone version of the survey, there's no way to stop one person from calling several times. There's also not a way to stop one person from taking the phone survey several different times.

"There is no way that anybody can guarantee that any survey is going to be 100 percent of the population or sample. You could get the majority," said Interim Administrator Tameka Allen.

News 12 hit the streets to find out what people think of the services like trash collection and what other areas need to be improved.

"I really don't care," said Augusta Resident Curtis Haag.

"Trash collection is probably about poor, because there is a lot of trash around here. You don't have people picking up trash or anything," Augusta Resident Sean Stokely.

"I think that's a highlight of the city with the disc golf courses and dog parks and that's really important to me," said Augusta Resident Mathew Lewis.

City employees say they'll gather the data and present it to commissioners when it's decision making time on certain issues.

The survey can be found here and the to take the survey by phone call (706) 821-1100. The poll should be ready by July 2nd, 2014.
