COLUMBIA COUNTY Ga. (WRDW) -- Tea Party leader and longtime Columbia County conservative Republican activist Brian Slowinski has announced his run for the 10th Congressional District Seat in 2014.
He made the announcement on his YouTube channel.
Since the U.S. Congressman will not be seeking reelection but is running for a Senate seat, the position will be open.
Slowinski says the number one issue in the campaign is the economy.
"Government is taxing and spending away the American Dream of the future generations," Slowinski said.
He says the campaign will focus on a 25-county grassroots organization utilizing a high-tech/low-tech communication approach.
