AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW) -- Tuesday marks the 40th anniversary of the Rove v. Wade Supreme Court decision, and some groups are still not happy with the case and what they say it means.

Protesters began gathering outside of the Planned Parenthood in downtown Augusta just after 5 a.m.

"We have understood that abortion needs a presence from people of God," said Bob Garrett, overall coordinator of Alleluia Community.

Signs and songs lined the sidewalk of Broad Street before the sun came up.

"The laws of our land permit this right now," Garrett said.

In fact, it's been permitted ever since the Supreme Court ruling in 1973.

But some still won't give up the fight that they've been fighting for decades.

"We've been doing this for over 30 years. We have people down here every week," Garrett said.

And with the law in place and no end in sight, the fight takes on a different tone.

"Right now, our only primary response is to make a spiritual response," Garrett said.

Protesters say they will continue to fight Roe v. Wade and abortions for as long as the decision stands.
