Tuesday, June 25, 2013

SARDIS, Ga. (WRDW) -- There's a new top cop in Sardis.

In a unanimous vote Tuesday night, the Sardis City Council selected Benjamin "Scotti" Sanford as the new Sardis police chief.

Sanford has been with the Sardis Police Department since January of last year and has been the officer in charge for the past month. In May, Police Chief Gary Jones left the department to take the job as public safety director in Harlem.

Sanford was one of four finalists for the job.
