AUGUSTA, Ga. -- Seven people in Richmond County's Human Resources Department will soon be looking for new jobs.
City Administrator Fred Russell says the employees will be given their 60-day notice on Thursday.
It's part of a deal commissioners approved in September, aimed at tightening the belt in the HR department.
Russell said the county will post several of the openings later in the week, but with different job titles he says will better address the department's needs.
The seven who will lose their jobs will be eligible to apply for the new positions and have priority in hiring, but Russell said there are no guarantees.
Russell says salaries for the positions have the potential to be higher or lower, depending on the new job titles.
