AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW) -- Helen Blocker-Adams announced she's suspending her campaign for Augusta's Mayor Thursday afternoon.
The announcement comes after past financial issues were brought to light earlier this week.
Her name will still be on the ballot on May 20 along with four others who are running for mayor of Augusta.
If Blocker-Adams files an affidavit with the Richmond County Board of Elections, all votes cast for her will not count. The Board said notices would be posted at all voting sites and there will be no re-votes for anyone who has already cast a ballot.
If Blocker-Adams files an affidavit, the board said it would notify the media.
